Terribly Terrific Twos

Jake is 2 months old as of yesterday!!!  I can't believe how much faster things seem to be moving with Jake than I remember with Sarah. A little semi-sweet since we know this is going to be our last baby.

Jake had his check-up with Dr. Beck yesterday morning.  Jake is 14lbs (90%) 24in long (85%) with a head circumference of 41.5cm (90%).  The EXACT same weight and height as Sarah at 2 months!  She was in the 97th percentile though since the growth charts are different for girl/boys.  His jaundice is pretty much gone now and it is looking like he will have the same blue eyes Sarah has.  Not a whole lot else to report!

Sarah meanwhile is still marching towards her 2nd birthday.  We have ordered potty training supplies (should be here in the next day or two) and were just deciding when to start.  Well, Sarah decided for us - she went potty twice at daycare yesterday!  Looks like we are going to start training this weekend! Not bad for 21 months. =)

She has been a great big sister so far - she always wants to give Jake kisses and has been showing a surprising level of empathy for being so young.  She will sometimes start crying if Jake does until we assure her he is alright and the other day she even stood up for her little brother!  Mark was making growling noises and acting like a big bear towards Jake while he was on his playmat.  Sarah started pushing at Mark and telling him, "No-no daddy!" =)

This weekend we will be walking for the Alzhiemer's Association Memory Walk.  I have raised $495 - just five dollars short of me fundraising goal, LOL.  Anyone who wants to put me over the top can go HERE.

Then the weekend after that we are thinking of going to a pumpkin patch!  We are thinking of going to one in Devine called Devine Acres Farms.  We haven't been to this one before but it looks like fun!

Then the weekend after THAT we are getting family pictures done!!!  We are doing a mini session with Beth from Tip Toe Photography over at the Japanese Tea Gardens.  Can't wait to get the perfect picture for this year's Christmas cards!  Looking over other family portraits Beth has taken and having seen her Christmas card designs previously, I have noticed that teal and fuschia look great in her photographs.  Keeping that in mind I have been looking for outfits for everyone.  The centerpiece is a pettiskirt I had made for Sarah from etsy.com by seller cheekychicbaby.  Sarah LOVES it!  I had her try it on and she didn't want to take it off! =P

And then the week after that?  I go back to work =(  Thankfully the holidays are fast approaching and will help me ease back into the flow of things!  I miss all my coworkers, just not the work mayhem! =P

  2. Tonya, there are several patches in the area. We usually go to the Corn MAiZE in Hondo and last year we went to Love Creek Orchards in Medina. LCO was a longer drive than I anticipated, but they have a LOT of stuff. It was a bit too crowded for me though, so I wanted to try someplace new.
