2 Month Stats

We are back from Sarah's 2 month checkup!  Shots were rough, but she was a trooper and is currently napping after her first dose of Tylenol.

She weighed in at 14 lbs (above 97th percentile) and measured 24 inches long (97th percentile)!

Everything else looked great, and with the exception of any illnesses, we will be back to see Dr. Beck in 2 months.

Growing and Growing...

We headed off to Dr. Beck's office once again.  After asking EVERYONE to wash their hands before handling Sarah - I get sick!!!  So Sarah and I have been dealing with nasal congestion since last weekend.  Sarah also had goopy eyes.  I have just been wiping them with a warm cloth, but since it had been 5 days I wanted Dr. Beck to take a look at them.  He agreed that it was due to the cold, but gave her a prescription for antibacterial drops since he says that does tend to cause an infection. 

Sarah is now 11 lbs 4 oz!!!  That is more than 3 pounds in just shy of 4 weeks.  She is also up to 22 1/2 inches long.

While Sarah is growing, I continue to shrink.  After gaining 40 lbs while pregnant, I have already lost 36 lbs!  Not really doing much to lose weight except for breastfeeding.  It feels good to wear regular clothes again.

First Well Baby Checkup

We had our first official well baby checkup today and Sarah gained a full pound since Friday!  She is up to 9 lbs 6 oz and 21 3/4 inches long.  Jaundice is looking better and we don't need to go back until her 2 month checkup.

In other exciting news.... For the first time in 6 months I can wear my wedding band and engagement ring again and for the first time in several weeks - regular shoes!  Well, both are still a tight fit, but it is still an improvement.

To the Doctor

We made our first visit to Dr. Beck today to follow up on Sarah's jaundice.  Everything looked good and Sarah is now 8 lbs 6 oz at 5 days old!  Still 21 inches long.  She still has the jaundice, but it is slooooooowly getting better.  Dr. Beck said it might take quite awhile to clear since she has a large hematoma on her head from the birth that her body is trying to re-absorb.  Since she is less than a week old, we need to come back next week for her first official well baby checkup.
